Hi, I’m Uschi.

I’m a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Lancaster.

My therapy approach is person-centred. This means that you are in control of what we talk about. We will work at a pace that feels safe for you and I will accompany you in exploring whatever feels difficult for you right now.

For me, person-centred counselling is more than a method: it is a philosophy that prioritises your perspective and values. You are the expert of your own life, and I believe that you have an inherent ability to grow and heal. I won't tell you what to do or think. Instead, I will offer you a welcoming and safe space, where we can develop a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect and understanding. I deeply believe that the therapeutic relationship is key to success in therapy.

I want to offer you my non-judgemental presence in our sessions, so you feel that I value and accept you and your experiences as you are. With this, I want to empower you to delve into your inner world with confidence, knowing that I will be with you to hold whatever might come up for you. I can help you make sense of the issues that are causing you distress and your thoughts and feelings about them.

Talking about your issues in this way can help you to discover and harness your inner strength. In our work together, I aim to help you uncover solutions that resonate with your authentic self – solutions that are truly yours, not off-the-shelf advice - so you can take on life's challenges with greater control and confidence.

I gained my Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy with distinction from the University of Cumbria, which is an approved training provider.

“I’ve appreciated each conversation, every comforting word, and your continuous presence more than words can say. I am infinitely grateful to you and want you to know how much of a difference your support made. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“I had tried various avenues for therapy, but decided that something in-person would be more beneficial. After some searching online, I found Uschi, and instinctively felt that she fit what I was looking for in a therapist. In the time that I spent with Uschi, I managed to unravel and delve into past trauma in a way I never felt possible before. Her patience, warmth and intuition helped guide me while also offering much needed comfort. I have often struggled to really open up, but Uschi managed to create a space that felt safe, without judgment, allowing room for unexamined hurt and pain.”
